With less than an hour to go before the close of the challenge at sea, the tastiest contest opened for chefs in the well-equipped kitchens of the Grand Brioni Hotel, A Radisson Collection Hotel of the Arena Hospitality group.
Arriving in the kitchens, they discovered the mystery box personally curated by Chef David Skoko, winner of the first edition of the Cooking Star event: a wide selection of top-notch local zero-mile products, with a few more exotic exceptions. The chefs unleashed their creativity by quickly choosing their ingredients and fine-tuning the recipes within hours, collaborating with the spirit of a crew thanks to the support of the hotel staff.
At each round, the “helm” was passed from hand to hand: all the chefs made themselves available to prepare with precision, accuracy and professionalism each dish of the fellow-skipper for the evaluation of the technical jury and the guests in the room, international journalists, influencers, VIPs and representatives of the Croatian tourism promotion institutions.
The evening was presented by Federico Quaranta, radio host, Italian television host and author, famous voice of the program
Decanter
of Radio Rai2, but also of
Linea Verde Orizzonti
on Rai 1 and
Out of
taste
.
Once the recipes invented in a few minutes by the chefs were discovered, Quaranta was also in charge of the wine pairing offered by the Consorzio di Tutela Prosecco Doc, Title Sponsor of the event: an interesting choice of labels with different characteristics that can be paired with different dishes, from bottle-refermented and “col fondo” to extra dry and rosé brut.
